Hi, we’re Luke and Joanie!
Luke is a 20+ year Army veteran who loves motorcycles and muscle cars and Joanie is a homemaking, homeschooling mama who runs the blog about the same things, Simple Living Mama. We have been married for nearly half their lives and have seven children.
2021 was the year we were able to purchase our dream property on seven acres. We could finally give our kids the space they so desperately needed to run, explore, and grow.
Every home has a story, and this one is no exception. Originally built in 1956, the home has four bedrooms, a pool, two dining areas, a home library, and a workshop. There’s also a small barn where Joanie plans to house her goats in the future.
We affectionately dubbed the house, The Ivy Farmhouse because there was quite a bit of English Ivy growing on it when we first looked at the property. The VA said it had to go, but there is still plenty of ivy here, especially in the Secret Garden.
In this tiny corner of the web we plan to share with you our home decor and renovations, our gardens, our projects and builds, and all our animal friends that come along for the journey. We hope you’ll stick around to see how this story unfolds!
